Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging & Radiology

Our pets often have a sneaky way of hiding their illnesses.

This is why laboratory and diagnostic tests play a vital role in your pet's overall veterinary care. Performing these tests while your pet is in good health establishes baseline values, which can be valuable if your pet ever falls ill.

The in-house lab at Sacramento Animal Hospital uses state-of-the-art non-invasive technology to diagnose a multitude of pet health-related issues. This testing includes:

  • Radiography (Digital X-rays)
  • Ultrasound
  • Bloodwork
  • Urinalysis
  • ECG / EKG
  • Digital Dental X-rays

Pet Ultrasound Examinations:

We employ safe, non-invasive imaging ultrasounds to provide timely, advanced diagnoses while keeping your pet's stress to a minimum. We offer in-house ultrasound for swift diagnoses and, in some cases, collaborate with a board-certified radiologist who assesses imaging for us every week.

Digital Radiology / X-rays:

Digital radiography complements ultrasound and aids in achieving rapid and precise diagnoses for various medical conditions. Our digital X-ray technology reduces your pet's time on the X-ray table and allows us to check for fractures, for signs of arthritis, and examine the chest cavity for respiratory diseases like pneumonia or an enlarged heart. Additionally, all our images are reviewed by a board-certified radiologist to ensure accurate diagnoses of your pet's condition.

Laser Therapy:

Cold laser therapy, also known as "low-level laser therapy," is a non-invasive technique that utilizes light to stimulate cell regeneration and enhance blood circulation. This relatively new approach is employed to address conditions like arthritis, and tendon or soft tissue injuries in dogs, as well as facilitate wound healing. Laser therapy is suitable for both acute and chronic conditions.

PEMF Technology:

In addition to advanced treatments such as laser therapy, we can provide non-invasive therapeutic treatments usine PEMF (Pulsed Electromagnetic Fields) technology. These treatments have been clinically proven to decrease pain and inflammation, decrease the need for pharmaceuticals, and accelerate the healing of bone and soft tissue.
